Lawyers Handling Social Security Disability Appeals
Are you disabled? Did you apply and get turned down for Social Security benefits? You have a right to have a lawyer represent you if you disagree with decision of the Social Security Administration. If you are not satisfied with the decision at one level you may appeal to the next. You have 60 days from the date you receive the letter to request an appeal.
The initial consultation is free. As your lawyer, in most cases I will not charge you a fee unless I win your case. Then my fee will come out of the lump sum of back benefits owed by Social Security.
If you have minor children and you receive Social Security Disability Insurance based on your past work record, your children also receive dependent child benefits until they turn 18 years old.
If your work record is not complete enough to get Social Security Disability Insurance, you may still be eligible for Supplemental Security Income or SSI. SSI is a needs based program, which means you have to be found financially eligible. If you can prove that you are disabled, you will be eligible for SSI. Once you have been found eligible for SSI, you are automatically eligible for Medicaid.
So, if you disagree with a decision of the Social Security Administration, call William J. Courtney at 908-782-5900 and we can discuss your options.
